Try this...

1. I believe the only way to be part of a productive, healthy student body is for us to learn to listen to one another and respect our differences. I know being a peer mediator would contribute to this process more than any other activity I can do here on campus, and I am up for the challenge.

2. Students today are going through things in their lives that our parents and grandparents didn't have to face, and they have less people there to help them deal with their problems. As a result, they are bringing these problems to bear on fellow students. I think the lonliness this often leads to is one of the biggest reasons we have conflict on our campuses. How can students expect to listen to and respect one another when they feel think that no one knows how they are feeling or what they are going through?

Feel free to edit or go through but this is the stuff the peer mediation groups are looking for. :)
